I
t’s been a long hot sweltering summer in London, so this issue we’ve compiled a handy guide to the best alfresco spaces to eat, drink and generally hang out around Euston.
Inside we pick a leafy place for brunch off the Euston Road, as well as secret terraces, courtyards and other lesser-known spots to enjoy a pint. And we salute the Somers Town Coffee House, back in action after a recent fire nearly destroyed the historic building.
Elsewhere we meet artist David Tovey, whose fascinating story about overcoming homelessness makes an inspiring read, and talented sax player Lottie Beattie, who works at the landmark brass shop on Hampstead Road.
We also outline great things you can do if you’re passing through the neighbourhood, or changing trains (why not miss the next one on purpose?). We explore the area’s only ‘bug hotel’, give you the lowdown on the open-air theatre in Regent’s Park – as well as 25 world-class sculptures, courtesy of Frieze, that you can see for nada.
