The best little barber on Chalton Street

The intriguingly decorated Jessim’s is nearly a decade old – and worth a trip

After cutting his first bob in 1990, Jessim is no new hand to the hairdressing game. Ten years ago he decided that it was time to leave his salon job in Camden and open up his own place.

The eponymously named Jessim’s is decorated in block colours of red, white and black, which also contains a wide selection of weathered newspaper clippings. These include more than one clipping of Kim Jong-un, whose short back and sides has proved to be very a-la-mode style of late, and a poster of Daniel Radcliffe’s Equus because, well why the hell not.

For Jessim, his business is “on the one hand my bread and butter, it is how I make a living and how I provide for my family, but at the same time I really enjoy what I do.”
